In Edinburg, we cultivate every person’s right to health, artistic experiences, and belonging, because there is no place like home.

"Whether to bring joy and peace or release tension and stress, the arts move us through and to emotions and processing those emotions. The citizens of Edinburg are excited to learn and grow through the arts, whether in classes or workshops or by attending great performances and exhibits. Our artists are excited to share their skills and work with the community through teaching, demonstrating, selling, and more. With the support of our health partners, we're creating a foundation for life-long wellness. A creative community is a thriving community - and we're cultivating that community here in Edinburg."

In 2022, Edinburg was selected as one of 18 cities across the US to participate in the One Nation One Project Arts & Wellness Initiative to build and study programs that use the arts to promotes community healing and cohesion.

Located in a county that was once a Covid hotspot, the City of Edinburg’s Department of Library & Cultural Arts and local artists and health partners will showcase the community’s resilience, color, and artistic richness through inspiring message murals throughout the city and community-based art programs that promote health and well-being.

The City and its partners will also focus on establishing a strong artistic workforce through the establishment of an artist directory, entrepreneurship classes, and artistic opportunities and programming.

The art programs established will set a foundation for the programming at the City’s upcoming Art, Culture, and Event Center scheduled to open in June 2024, the ACE Center will be in the heart of the City’s festival grounds and will serve to showcase the community’s rich Mexican culture and traditions while embracing and celebrating its growing diversity.  The initiative will culminate in an Art & Wellness festival that promotes health and well-being, social connectedness, and a sense of belonging.
