City of Edinburg Hosts Informational Session with the Texas Music Office:
Empowering Local Music Venues and Festival Organizers Through State Programs

The City of Edinburg and the Texas Music Office presented an insightful and engaging session focused on two impactful initiatives: the Music Friendly Texas Program and the Texas Music Incubator Rebate Program.
Attendees received valuable guidance on how to apply for these programs and how to maximize their benefits at the local level. The session included an open Q&A and networking opportunities, connecting music advocates, artists, and community leaders.
TMO Session Highlights:
Music Friendly Texas Program Overview
Participants learned how more than 80 Texas communities became Music Friendly Certified and what the certification process entails.
The presentation outlined the resources, visibility, and networking opportunities that come with certification and how these tools strengthen local music economies.
Texas Music Incubator Rebate (TMIR) Program Overview
The session explored how eligible Texas music venues and festival promoters could apply for rebates—up to $100,000—on mixed beverage gross receipts taxes or sales taxes on beer and wine.
Attendees gained insights into how this funding supports sustainable business operations and enhances the local music ecosystem.
