Private Higinio Mendiola

Army, 1st Engineer Combat Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. PVT Mendiola was declared Missing in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion of Omaha Beach, France, D-Day. He is honored on the Tablets of the Missing at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
